ok this is embarassing but i was browsing the sci fi section at powells and you were next to me and we kept reaching for the same books?? like three times in a row. we both laughed and you made a joke about us having the same brain or somthing. you recommended the left hand of darkness and i said id check it out. i should have asked to get coffee or somthing but i got nervous and just said thanks and walked away like an idiot. you had curly brown hair and a tote bag with a cat on it

It started pouring outside the Powell's bookstore. You offered to share your umbrella and walked me three blocks to my bus stop. We talked about Vonnegut and you laughed at my terrible joke. I never got your name.

You were carrying a red umbrella even though it wasn't raining. I commented on it and you said it was your good luck charm. We talked about heirloom tomatoes for ten minutes. I wish I had asked for your number.

We spent an hour talking in the poetry section at Powell's. You recommended Mary Oliver and I recommended Ocean Vuong. The conversation flowed so naturally. I went back the next day hoping to find you.
